SMT Automation was founded in Bruce Township, Michigan in 2017 by Marco Santana and Elena Morales.
Marco was working in automation and people kept coming to him asking for help. There was real demand for skilled people in the automation field. That was when we decided it was time to get started.Elena Morales · President
Today SMT is about 50 people under one roof, roughly 30 minutes from the Detroit Arsenal. Engineering, controls, machine build and robotic integration sit beside CNC machining, laser cutting and fabrication, on about 45,000 square feet. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified through NQA, ITAR Registered, and certified woman-owned and minority-owned through WOSB, WBENC and NMSDC.
We plan to keep growing, and to bring much more implementation of artificial intelligence to improve our processes. Our vision for the future is to build resilience in manufacturing in the United States.Marco Santana · CEO
